European HIV testing week

European HIV testing week was held for the first time in 2013 year. The Week is aimed to encourage people to know their HIV status, which will ensure decreasing of new HIV cases.

In bulgaria officialy yhere are around 2 000 people living with HIV/AIDS. Statistics data shows that in every one person, who knows his HIV positive status, there are three more persons which don't know that they are infected with HIV. The reason for that is that people are not awareness about HIV testing.

The benefits from early diagnosis are many, but these are the most important:

it can prevent HIV transmission to other people;
it can help to infected person to get adequate medical assistance, which will increased the his quality of life.

European HIV testing week will be held from 21 to 28 /from Friday to Friday/ November 2014 year.
